BSSC Field Assistant Exam Pattern / Syllabus 2025

Nature of the Examination – Objective Type

As per the Bihar Staff Selection Commission Examination Conduct Rules–2010, if more than 40,000 (forty thousand) applications are received, a preliminary examination will be conducted. If fewer applications are received, the recruitment may proceed through a single-stage process. The exam may be held in multiple phases depending on the number of applicants. The process will be prepared in such a way that results from all phases can be compiled effectively.

The preliminary examination will be of objective nature. Based on this exam, candidates will be shortlisted at a ratio of 1:5 (five times the number of vacancies) for the main examination. A separate notification will be issued for the main examination.

  • The questions will be objective and multiple choice.
  • There will be a total of 150 questions.
  • Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, and for each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
  • The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • The exam will be conducted in Hindi/English.
  • If a question is in both Hindi and English and there is any discrepancy, the question in English will be considered final.
