📋 UPSSSC CET Group D Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2026
- Selection for Group D posts (except where minimum qualification is below Matriculation) will be based on Common Eligibility Test (CET).
- CET Score will be considered as 100% weightage for final selection of Group D posts.
- Question paper will be of Matriculation (Secondary Education) level.
Exam Pattern
- Total Questions : 100 (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Total Marks : 100
- Exam Duration : 1 Hour 45 Minutes
Minimum Qualifying Marks:-
- General Category : 50%
- Reserved Category (Vertical & Horizontal) : 40%
• The question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi).
• Exam will be conducted in offline mode (OMR Based).
• All questions are compulsory.
Negative Marking
• There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
• However, for every un-attempted question, 1 mark will be deducted. Candidates must fill the 5th circle (bubble) if they do not want to attempt any question.
HSSC CET Group D Syllabus:-
Exam Scheme & Weightage
The examination consists of two main sections. Section-A covers General Subjects and carries a 75% weightage, while Section-B focuses entirely on Haryana GK and carries a 25% weightage.
Section-A: General Subjects (75% Weightage)
Reasoning: The reasoning section will evaluate both verbal and non-verbal skills. Topics include alphabetical order, series, coding-decoding, direction and distance, order and ranking, blood relation, analogy, and classification. It will also cover clock, calendar, mirror image, water image, syllogism, sitting arrangement, and inserting the missing characters. Additionally, questions will be asked from statement and assumption, statement and conclusion, counting figures, non-verbal series, analogy, and classification.
Quantitative Ability: The test will cover the number system, including questions on simplification, decimals, fractions, and relationships between numbers. It includes core topics like L.C.M., H.C.F., ratio and proportion, percentage, roots, average, profit and loss, discount, simple and compound interest, and partnership business. Candidates will also face questions on mixture and allegation, time and work, time and distance, mensuration, trigonometry, basic algebra, and geometry.
English Language: This section tests language proficiency through English grammar, tenses, and spotting the error. It includes fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spellings or detecting mis-spelt words, idioms and phrases, and improvement of sentences. It will also assess knowledge of active and passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct or indirect narration, and shuffling of sentence parts.
Hindi Language (हिंदी भाषा): हिंदी भाषा के अंतर्गत वर्ण, स्वर, व्यंजन, शब्द, संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया और क्रिया विशेषण से प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे। इसके साथ ही वचन, लिंग, कारक, काल, तत्सम-तद्भव, अलंकार, विकारी शब्द, अविकारी शब्द, पद, और पदबंध शामिल हैं। व्याकरण खंड में मुहावरे, लोकोक्तियाँ, संधि, उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, समास, पर्यायवाची, विलोम एवं अनेकार्थी शब्द, वाक्य शोधन, विराम चिह्न और अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द से भी सवाल शामिल किए जाएंगे।
Section-B: Haryana GK (25% Weightage)
This section measures general awareness related explicitly to the state of Haryana. It includes the history, literature, geography, economy, civics, polity, and environment of Haryana. Candidates should also be well-versed in the art, culture, customs, society, current affairs, and major events of the state.

Important Note
For candidates who have already qualified CET Group D exam on 12th January 2024 (valid till 11th January 2027), their marks out of 95 will be converted into percentage for preparing the combined merit list.
Centre of Examination
The examination centre once allotted as per the admit card will not be changed ordinarily.
