India Post GDS 2026: Document Required to Be Uploaded

1. Recent Photograph Requirements

• Format: JPG/JPEG only.

• File Size: Between 30 KB and 100 KB.

• Dimensions: Recommended 320 × 400 pixels (4:5 aspect ratio).

• Resolution: 72 to 150 DPI.

• Appearance: * Plain white or light-colored background.

  1. Face must occupy 70–80% of the frame.

  2. Must be clear, well-lit, and in focus (no selfies or scanned photos).

2. Signature Requirements

• Format: JPG/JPEG only.

• File Size: Between 20 KB and 100 KB.

• Dimensions: Recommended 300 × 120 pixels (5:2 aspect ratio).

• Method: Scanned signature on white paper using a black or blue pen.

• Appearance:

  1. Signature must occupy 70–80% of the image area.

  2. No digital/typed text, shadows, or borders.

  3. Must be clear and not shaky or pixelated.

⚠️ Important Notes

• Rejection Risk: Applications with blurred photos or blurred/miniature signatures will be rejected.

• Verification: You must check the preview carefully before final submission.

• No Edits: No requests for corrections or replacements will be accepted after the final submission.

Instructions for applicants

Part A: One-Time Registration (OTR)

• Registration Link: Applicants must register at https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement to obtain a unique Registration Number.

• Prerequisites: You must have an active mobile number and email ID, both of which will be verified via OTP.

• Required Details: Keep your 10th-grade (Matriculation) board information and passing year ready.

• Mandatory Info: You will need to enter personal details (Name, DOB, Gender, Parents' names, etc.) exactly as they appear on your 10th-grade certificate.

• Credentials: After submission, a registration number and a random password will be sent to your mobile.

• Restrictions: * Mobile numbers and email IDs cannot be modified once registered.

  1. Only one registration per mobile number/email ID is allowed.

  2. Duplicate registrations through altered details will lead to removal from the selection process.

Part B: Filling of Online Application

• Login: Use your Registration Number and the password received via SMS.

• Application Stages:

  1. Personal Details: These are auto-populated from your OTR data; you must fill in any remaining info.

  2. Educational Details: Select your 10th-class board, passing year, and enter your marks.

  3. Post Preference: Select your preferred Division and post based on the local language you studied.

  4. Uploads: You must upload a recent photo and signature according to the specific prescribed formats.

• Final Review: You can preview and edit your application before the final submission.

• Fee Payment: If applicable, the system will prompt for payment before the final submission.

Critical Reminders

• Accuracy: Incorrect information, especially regarding your name or parents' names, may result in the cancellation of your candidature.

• Edits: Registration details can only be edited during the application submission process by clicking "Click here to update the registration data".

• Pay Scale:  BPM- Rs.12,000- 14,500 /-  ||  ABPM/ Dak Sevak-Rs.10,000- 12,000/-
• Selection Process:- Selection on the Basis of Merit List.

📋 How to Download India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 1st Merit List

1. Visit the official website indiapostgdsonline.gov.in (or indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement).
2. Click on the “Results” or “Merit List” / “1st Merit List 2026” section/link on the homepage.
3. Select your respective State / Postal Circle.
4. Open / Download the Merit List PDF file displayed on the screen.
5. Save the PDF, open it, and search for your Registration Number (use Ctrl+F) to check your status. Print a copy for future reference.

Note: The 1st Merit List is released state-wise/circle-wise in PDF format (no login required in most cases). Verify all details carefully. If your name appears, prepare for document verification. Contact the official helpline for any issues or discrepancies.
