Eligibility Details

Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 9 Admission Eligibility

• Residency & Academic Status: Candidates must be bonafide residents of the concerned district and studying in Class VIII during Academic Session 2026-27 in a Govt. or Govt. Recognized School located in the same district where Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is functional.

• District Criteria: The candidate's district of residence and district of Class VIII study must be the same for session 2027-28 admission.

• Category Relaxation: The age criteria apply equally to all categories, including SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang (PwD) candidates.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 11 Admission Eligibility

• Academic Status: Candidates must be actively studying in Class X during the 2026-27 academic session in a Govt. or Govt. recognized school (CBSE, State Board, or other recognized boards) in the same district as the JNV.

• Ineligibility Rule: Students who passed Class X prior to the 2026-27 session are not eligible to apply.

• Category Norms: The age limit applies uniformly to all candidate categories, including Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Age Limit

• Class IX: Date of Birth must fall between 1st May 2012 and 31st July 2014 (both dates inclusive).
• Class XI: Date of Birth must fall between 1st June 2010 and 31st July 2012 (both dates inclusive).

📘 NVS Class 9th & 11th Admission 2026 Exam Pattern | JNVST LEST Syllabus

Check the latest NVS Class 9 Exam Pattern 2026 and NVS Class 11 Lateral Entry Test Pattern 2026. Both tests are OMR based, objective type and of 100 marks.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 9 Test Pattern 2026 (JNVST LEST Class IX)

Selection Test will consist of questions from Mathematics, General Science, English and Hindi. Difficulty level of the test paper shall be of Class VIII.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 11 Test Pattern 2026 (JNVST LEST Class XI)

The selection test will be of two-and-half-hour duration from 11:00 A.M. to 01:30 P.M. and will have 5 sections with only objective type questions. There are 100 questions in all for 100 marks.

Note: NVS Class 9th & 11th Admission 2026 exam pattern is as per official JNVST / LEST notification. Carry admit card and valid ID to the exam centre.

📋 How to Apply Navodaya Vidyalaya NVS Class 9th & 11th Admission 2026 Online Form

1. Visit the official website navodaya.gov.in or the admission portal cbseitms.nic.in.
2. Click on the Class 9th link (cbseitms.nic.in/2026/nvsix) or Class 11th link (cbseitms.nic.in/2026/nvsxi).
3. Register with basic details (Name, Mobile Number, Email, Date of Birth) and generate login credentials.
4. Fill the online application form carefully (personal, academic, district, category, stream for Class 11).
5. Upload photograph, candidate signature and parent signature (JPG, 10–100 KB).
6. Preview all details, submit the form (no fee) and download/print the confirmation page.
