📋 How to Apply SSC CGL Recruitment 2026 Online Form for 12256 Post
- Visit the official website ssc.gov.in.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if not done already (provide personal details, mobile number & email).
- Login using your Registration ID and Password.
- Click on the “SSC CGL 2026” or “Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026” application link.
- Fill the online application form carefully (personal details, educational qualification, post preferences etc.).
- Upload scanned photograph, signature and other required documents in prescribed format.
- Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
- Submit the form and download/print the confirmation page for future reference.

SSC CGL 2026 Exam Pattern/ Syllabus:-
Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (CBT)
- Exam Mode: Online (Computer Based Test)
- Duration: 60 minutes (80 minutes for visually handicapped candidates)
- Sections:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- General Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Comprehension
- Total Marks: 200 (50 marks per section)
- Marking Scheme: +2 marks for each correct answer, -0.5 marks for each incorrect answer
Syllabus for Tier-I:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, etc.
- General Awareness: Current affairs, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general policy and scientific research, etc.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, percentage, ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit and loss, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistical charts, etc.
- English Comprehension: Reading comprehension, fill in the blanks, spelling, idioms and phrases, one-word substitution, sentence correction, error spotting, synonyms, antonyms, etc.
Tier-II: Computer Based Examination (CBT)

Duration: 120 minutes per paper (160 minutes for visually handicapped candidates)

- Paper-I: Quantitative Abilities
- Paper-II: English Language and Comprehension
- Paper-III: Statistics (only for Statistical Investigator Grade II & Compiler posts)
- Paper-IV: General Studies (Finance and Economics) (only for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer posts)

Total Marks: Varies (200 marks per paper for Paper I and II, 100 marks per paper for Paper III and IV)

Marking Scheme: +2 marks for each correct answer in Paper I, II, and IV, +1 mark for each correct answer in Paper III. Negative marking of -0.5 marks for each incorrect answer in Paper I, II, and IV, and -0.25 marks for Paper III.
Syllabus for Tier-II:
- Paper-I: Quantitative Abilities: Same as Tier-I but more advanced level questions.
- Paper-II: English Language and Comprehension: Same as Tier-I but more advanced level questions.
- Paper-III: Statistics: Collection and representation of data, measure of dispersion, moments, skewness and kurtosis, correlation and regression, probability theory, sampling theory, etc.
- Paper-IV: General Studies (Finance and Economics): Finance Commission, Basic Concept of Economics and Introduction to Micro Economics, Theory of Demand and Supply, Theory of Production and Cost, Forms of Market and Price Determination in Different Markets, Indian Economy, Economic Reforms in India, Money and Banking, Role of IT in Governance
