UPPSC Assistant Professor 2025 : Education Qualification

📘 Academic Qualifications (General)

• Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in relevant subject from Indian/foreign university.

• Must have NET / SLET / SET qualification conducted by UGC/CSIR (or equivalent).

• Exemptions: Candidates with Ph.D. degree (as per UGC norms) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

• Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH categories.

🎨 Fine Arts, Music & Performing Arts

• Master’s Degree with 55% marks (relevant subject).

• NET/SLET/SET required (unless exempted with Ph.D.).

• Alternative for performing arts/painting:

  1. B. Grade artist of AIR/Doordarshan OR
  2. Strong practical knowledge with ability to explain subject.

📋 Equivalent / Allied Subjects

Some subjects allow degrees in allied/relevant fields, e.g.:

• Hindi → Language Science

• Sanskrit → Language Science, Ancient History, Culture

• Education → Master of Education (M.Ed.)

• Commerce → Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy

• Zoology → Microbiology, Human Genetics, Fisheries, Life Sciences

Preferential Qualifications

Short Advertisement

1. The detailed advertisement of this examination will be available on the Commission’s website from 04.09.2025 at https://uppsc.up.nic.in. It will include the online application process, fee submission, eligibility conditions, syllabus, reservation rules, caste certificates, required documents, relaxation in age and fees, and other important instructions.

2. Applicants are advised to read the detailed advertisement carefully before applying.

1. Post Details

Currently, there are a total of 1253 vacancies for Assistant Professor in Government Degree Colleges under Examination–2025. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on circumstances.

2. Educational Qualification

As prescribed in Point–8 “Educational Qualifications” of the detailed advertisement.

3. Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years old as of 01 July 2025.

• They must have completed 21 years of age and should not have attained the age of 40.

• The candidate must not have been born before 02 July 1985 and not after 01 July 2004.

• Relaxation in the maximum age limit will be provided to reserved categories and other eligible groups as per rules (details will be available in the detailed advertisement).

Important Dates:

1. Starting date of online applications – 04.09.2025

2. Last date for fee submission & online application submission – 06.10.2025

3. Last date for correction/reconciliation of submitted online application with fee payment – 13.10.2025

• Selection Process: Selection on the Basis of Written Examination (75% weightage in final selection) & Personal Interview (25% weightage)
